Recreation Player Registration Information

NOTE:

This page is for recreation registration with the Fayette County Youth Soccer League ONLY. Home games and practices will be at McCurry Park in Fayetteville. If you are interested in playing recreation soccer in Peachtree City, please go to the PC Lazers web site.

ON LINE REGISTRATION

This is the preferred way to go and is more convenient, accurate and efficient. When registering on line, fees must be paid by credit card.

Players registering on January 27th or later will be wait-listed with no guarantee of team placement.

The following MUST be include with a mailed form:

   •  A check for the appropriate amount made to FCYSL

   •  A copy of the player's birth certificates if he/she is new to the league

WALK UP REGISTRATION

Walk up registration will be held at the McCurry Park North Soccer Complex located near the intersection of Ga. Hwy 54 and McDonough Rd. After parking come down the walkway to the concession stand.

AGE GROUPS

A player must be registered with his/her respective age group as set by the Georgia Youth Soccer Association rules and regulations. Players will be allowed to play up under the following circumstances:

(a)   If a player has exceptional skills. During the preceding season the parents/guardians must make a written request to the age group coordinator. The Age Group Coordinator must then observe the player in a game and make a recommendation to the FCYSL Board. The player may play up with board approval and  availability of a position on a team. If at the time of registration this cannot be confirmed, parents will be notified at a later date.

(b)    Players will be assigned to age appropriate teams unless a request for the player to play an age up is made in writing to the age group coordinator prior to the coach’s draft. The player must be evaluated by the age group coordinator and recommended by the previous season’s coach. A determination will be made by the age group coordinator, registrar and league Board of Directors. It will also depend on the space available in the requested age group.

(c)    A player has to be registered by the registration deadline in order to be eligible for the draft proceedings.

FEES

An Out of County Fee of $45.00 is to be added to the cost of registration for players who do not live in Fayette County. This fee is not retained by FCYSL. We turn it over to Fayette County Parks and Recreation. It is used to offset the cost of the county's support of our facilities.

There will be a family discount of $5 per child for families with multiple children playing recreation soccer.

Above fees are paid to FCYSL for the season in question.

A $25.00 fee will be assessed for returned checks.

UNIFORMS

All players who did not get a new uniform in the fall will need to get one. Uniforms can be purchased in person from the league or can be ordered online from the Score store.

Uniforms will be available for purchase at walk up registration. Uniforms will cost $60 each at walk up.

If you order your uniform online, please do so at least 3 weeks before your first game so it can be delivered in time.

U4 and U6 Players DO NOT need to order a uniform

LATE REGISTRATION

Late fees of $15.00 per player will be assessed during late registration. Late registration begins on 1/27/25.

If there are any openings after the last scheduled registration date, a late registration session may be scheduled and openings filled on a first come first served basis. After that session is completed the Registrar will maintain a waiting list for each age group. Any additional late registrations will be coordinated between the Registrar and Age Group Coordinators only.

TEAM ASSIGNMENTS

In efforts to make teams as even as possible, we are adhering to the following assignment policy:

U6 and U8: Players will be assigned randomly. When possible, teams will be carried over from Fall to Spring seasons, with any new players added randomly to fill the rosters.

U10+: Players assigned to each team are selected by the coaches in a draft system, with only the Coach’s child and the Assistant Coach’s child placed on the team. When possible, teams will be carried over from Fall to Spring seasons, with any new players drafted to fill the rosters.

The only request the league can honor is for siblings of the same age and gender to be on the same team.

REFUNDS

All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to the Registrar at P.O. Box 721, Fayetteville, GA 30214. A full refund will be given to a player who decides to withdraw before January 26th, 2025. After this date NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.

There will be NO refunds for uniforms.

All requests for refunds will be held by the Registrar until after the first game of the season. The Registrar will give all refund requests to the Treasurer during the second week of the season. The Treasurer will issue all refunds within 30 days of receipt.

PRACTICES and GAMES

Practice for the Spring 2025 season starts the week of February 6th. The first game will be March 1st and the season should end by May 3rd.

A team will normally have one or two practice sessions per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays. Games are on Saturdays though an occasional Sunday afternoon game is also possible.

VOLUNTEERS

FCYSL depends on your participation. 99% of FCYSL consists solely of volunteers. Without these volunteers, children may be turned away, which could include your child. We are especially in need of coaches, co-coaches, and assistant coaches. With FCYSL training, guidance and support, coaching a FCYSL team is NOT beyond your abilities. Remember, without you, our volunteer, there is not FCYSL. If you would like to volunteer for these and possible other positions please click here.
